I think balance is the emotional holy grail. If we let our emotions dictate our lives then we live in chaos and are dragged from pillar to post. We need discipline to gain control over our lives. We need to embrace emotional pain in order to grow but also pleasure and spontaneity to be open to all life’s possibilities. Balance is the glue that binds the two extremes. For me this painting is an expression at my attempt to find balance.
